Fil-Am killed in Iraq war

A Filipino-American soldier was killed in the U.S.-led war against Iraq, ABS-CBN News reported Monday.

The soldier was identified as Sgt. Joseph Menusa, 33, a member of the 1st U.S. Marines Combat Engineering Battalion.

Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Shawn Turner confirmed that Menusa was killed near the town of Nasiriya in southern Iraq when his battalion was engaged in gunfight with Iraq's elite Republican Guards.

He is survived by his wife, Stacy, and three-year-old son, Joshua. The family was notified Friday last week.

Menusa also served in the first Gulf war.

Addressing stuff floating out there
There is stuff floating around in the swimming pool of public opinion that ought be in a toilet instead. That stuff has gotta be addressed before it is mistaken for a bar of Baby Ruth, with which it bears an uncanny resemblance, and someone takes a bite of it. One of them is what to call it. Only ABS-CBN has had the mental honesty to call this war as it can only be seen: an “Attack on Iraq.”
